Electoral Districts
The City of Dorval’s territory, which in January 2020 had a total of 14,536 domiciled voters and 23 non-domiciled voters, for a grand total of 14,559 voters, is divided into 6 electoral districts (average of 2,427 voters per district), bounded and described clockwise below. Note that, unless otherwise indicated, the centre of the indicated traffic lanes and demarcations constitutes the effective limit.
Electoral District No. 1
Starting from a point located at the intersection of Autoroute du Souvenir (20) and the generally eastern municipal limit, from there, successively, the following lines and demarcations: toward the south, the generally eastern municipal limit (on the back line of the properties successively fronting the eastern side of Bourke then Boylan Avenues), the shore of Lake Saint-Louis, the mouth of the Bouchard stream, the western limit of Millenium Park, Chemin du Bord-du-Lac – Lakeshore, Martin Avenue, Bouchard Boulevard, Autoroute du Souvenir (20) to the starting point.
This district comprises 2,686 electors, with a variation from the average of +12.43%, and an area of 0.87 km2.
Electoral District No. 2
Starting from a point located at the intersection of Autoroute du Souvenir (20) and Bouchard Boulevard; from there, successively, the following lines and demarcations: to the southeast, Bouchard Boulevard, Martin Avenue, Chemin du Bord-du-Lac – Lakeshore, the western limit of the Millennium Park, the mouth of the Bouchard stream, the shore of Lake Saint-Louis, the generally eastern and southern municipal limits in Lake St. Louis, the southward extension (in Lake Saint-Louis) of the western limit of the property located at 770 chemin du Bord-du-Lac – Lakeshore (this extension affects the eastern end of Dorval Island), this last property limit, Chemin du Bord-du-Lac - Lakeshore, Dorval Avenue and its northbound extension (in the centre of the Dorval roundabout), Autoroute du Souvenir (20) to the starting point.
This district also comprises the following islands and islets: Bouchard-Bushy and Dixie.
This district comprises 2,498 electors, with a variation from the average of +4.56%, and an area of 3.46 km2.
Electoral District No. 3
Starting from a point located at the intersection of Fenelon Boulevard and Autoroute du Souvenir (20); from there, successively, the following lines and demarcations: to the southeast, Autoroute du Souvenir (20), the northbound extension of Dorval Avenue (in the centre of the Dorval roundabout), this last avenue, Chemin du Bord-du-Lac - Lakeshore, the west limit of the property located at 770 chemin du Bord-du-Lac - Lakeshore, its southbound extension in Lake Saint-Louis, the eastern end of Dorval Island, the northern shore of Dorval Island, the west end of Dorval Island, the southbound extension (in Lake SaintLouis) of the back line of the properties fronting on the western side of McConnell Road, this last back property line, the back line of the properties successively fronting on the southern and western sides of Ashburton Crescent, the western limit of Windsor Park, the limit separating the two properties located at 1175 and 1195 Dawson Avenue, the back line of the properties fronting on the eastern side of Allard Avenue, the limit separating the two properties located at 1170 John-Pratt Avenue and 1190 Carson Avenue, the limit separating the two properties located at 1155 and 1185 Carson Avenue, the back line of the properties fronting on the eastern side of Allard Avenue, its northbound extension, Autoroute du Souvenir (20) to the starting point.
This district also comprises the Lake Saint-Louis area located between the southern shore of Dorval Island and the southern municipal limit in the centre of Lake Saint-Louis; it excludes Dorval Island entirely, which is in itself a municipality.
This district comprises 2,307 electors, with a variation from the average of 3,43%, and an area of 2,11 km2.
Electoral District No. 4
Starting from a point located at the intersection of Herron Road and Clément Avenue; from there, successively, the following lines and demarcations: toward the northern, the northbound extension of Clément Avenue, Autoroute du Souvenir (20), the northbound extension of the back line of the properties fronting on the eastern side of Allard Avenue, this said back property limit, the limit separating the two properties located at 1155 and 1185 Carson Avenue, the limit separating the two properties located at 1170 John-Pratt Avenue and 1190 Carson Avenue, the backline of the properties fronting the eastern side of Allard Avenue, the limit separating the two properties located at 1175 and 1195 Dawson Avenue, the western limit of Windsor Park, the back line of the properties successively fronting the western and southern sides of Ashburton Crescent, the back line of the properties fronting the western side of McConnell Road, its southbound extension in Lake Saint-Louis (this extension reaches the western end of Dorval Island), the southern municipal limit in Lake Saint-Louis, the southbound extension of Saint-Louis Avenue (in Pine Beach Park and Lake Saint-Louis),this last avenue, Turcot Avenue, Clément Avenue to the starting point.
This district comprises 2,124 electors, with a variation from the average of 11.09%, and an area of 3.38 km2.
Electoral District No. 5
Starting from a point located at the intersection of the western municipal limit (in the northbound extension of Des Sources Boulevard) and Autoroute du Souvenir (20); from there, successively, the following lines and demarcations: toward the east, from Autoroute du Souvenir (20) the northbound extension of Clément Avenue, this last avenue, Turcot Avenue, Saint-Louis Avenue and its southbound extension in Pine Beach Park and Lake Saint-Louis, the southern municipal limit in Lake Saint-Louis, the western municipal limit (in Lake SaintLouis and generally on Des Sources Boulevard) to the starting point.
This district comprises 2,059 electors, with a variation from the average of 13.81%, and an area of 3.46 km2.
Electoral District No. 6
This district comprises the entire territory of the City of Dorval located north of Autoroute du Souvenir (20).
This district comprises 2,659 electors, with a variation from the average of +11,30%, and an area of 15,74 km2.
