Dog and Cat Licenses

The City of Dorval now offers an online pet licensing service allowing pet owners to register their animal and renew their annual registration certificate from home.

Access the new platform

The platform allows the payment of registration fees directly on the secure platform and will send notifications to pet owners before the registration certificate expires. New smart tags will be sent by mail and will include a lost animal alert feature.

Cats and dogs must be microchipped, sterilized, and have their rabies vaccine up-to-date, failing which their registration on the platform will not be completed and dog owners could receive a fine.

Pet owners who do not have Internet access or do not have the equipment required to use the online platform will have the option to visit City Hall’s reception for assistance in setting up their account, paying their pet’s annual registration fee, and obtaining an identification tag.

All dog or cat owners must register their pet within 30 days of its arrival on the territory. Failing to do so could result in a fine ranging from $50 to $150. Certain conditions apply. For more information, consult the animal control by-law, or call 514 633-4040.
