Automatic Writing Workshop with Arnaud L. Vidricaire

1 p.m. to 3 p.m. At the Peter B. Yeomans Cultural Centre Free All - Advance registration is required

Creative Break and Chat
Once per season, a creative workshop in connection with the current exhibition is given for visual arts lovers. Come and meet the artist who will introduce you to their medium, in a warm and friendly environment where you can create, inspired by their approach.

Arnaud L. Vidricaire’s approach is based on a daily creative ritual in two stages: writing automatically and creating forms that recall the writing gesture. Once the exercise is over, the artist has at his disposal only the gestures and the dance of the automatically created lines, more and more abstract with the time that separates him from the moment of his creation, leaving only the title as a memory of the emotions experienced.

This indecipherable writing, or these scribbles, is the starting point of his aesthetic exploration. From these creations, the tangibility of feelings manifests itself through the rhythm and gesture of the lines, creating a poetry that emerges from the inability to fully access the intimate.

During this Creative Break and Chat, as part of the exhibition Of Lines and Knots, Arnaud L. Vidricaire will take you on a journey into his artistic world where you will learn more about the different writing styles and where you can leave with your creations. Frozen treats will be available on site, to contribute to your creativity!

Weather permitting, the activity will take place at the Heather Allard Place.
