Neighbourhood Police Station no. 5 of the Montreal Police Department is responsible for the safety of citizens in Dorval.
In addition to prevention and crime control responsibilities, the Police Department undertakes a number of preventive initiatives, such as:
- School visits
- Road safety programs
- Relations with the community and with associations
- Bicycle safety programs
Patrol
The City of Dorval provides a patrol service to watch over neighbourhoods, parks, schools, as well as municipal buildings and installations 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Its presence on the territory contributes also to improve the safety of residents and serves as prevention for vandalism and crime. Furthermore, it has been mandated with the application of some municipal by-laws, namely the by-laws concerning parking, nuisances, watering, animal control, and waste.
